Judge leads tributes to retiring registrar

TRIBUTES have been paid to a Dublin District Court registrar who is retiring after decades of public service.

Joe McLoughlin, a familiar face in the capital's courts for the past 18 years, had previously worked for the Central Statistics Office.

Judge Michael Walsh led the tributes to Mr McLoughlin, telling him the judiciary wished him well in his retirement.

"Don't ever lose your good humour or generous spirit - we will miss you," he said.

Also present were Judges Bryan Smyth, Patricia McNamara, James Faughnan, Anthony Halpin and William Early.

Mr McLoughlin joined the Courts Service in 1996.

Colleagues, as well as gardai, solicitors, barristers and probation service employees, also thanked Mr McLoughlin and wished him well.
