RTE newscaster Kate Egan was pretty as a picture as she tied the knot with Paul McNeive at the National Gallery in Dublin.

The journalist arrived a traditional five minutes late to the intimate ceremony at the venue at Nassau Street in front of 40 guests.

The bride wore a beautiful Umit Kutluk white dress with a cape feature, which she teamed with classic white stilletos.

The couple were married just after 12pm yesterday, with a harp soloist providing music on the day.

Paul McNeive is a motivational speaker who lost both his legs in a tragic accident.

In 1982 he was involved in a serious car crash in Dublin which caused the car to go on fire.

At the age just 20 he had both of his legs amputated and faced years of painful rehabilitation.

However, the incident spurrred Mr McNeive on.

Following the amputation he progressed his career in property and went on to run Ireland's biggest estate agency, Hamilton Osborne King with 250 staff under him.

He is now a well-known motivational speaker, singer and journalist.

"Losing my legs drove me to new heights. I guess it made me work harder, aim higher, and prove anything is possible," he said previously.

The couple, who are both from Bray, posed outside the National Gallery for pictures before sitting down to lunch with family and friends.
