It's hard to have date nights when you've got two little ones - Sarah

Model Sarah McGovern admits it can be tough to fit in date nights with her husband Kenny Vaughn when they have two young children.

The 33-year-old is mum to three year-old Jude and Robin (one) and said she prefers nights in with her other half to painting the town red.

"We're terrible when it comes to date nights, we're so bad," she told the Diary.

"We just never seem to fit it in, it's been once a year for the last four years which is our wedding anniversary.

"But in saying that we go to birthday parties and things like that but we tend to have nights in. Nights out cost a fortune as well, between a babysitter and a meal and then taxis.

"Our family are so good to mind them when we're at work during the week that I can't really ask them again so we can go out.

"We're just in the thick of it with the ages they're at so we're happy to stay home and cook a nice meal and have a bottle of wine on a Friday night," she added.

People are always asking her if she'll 'go again' and have a third baby but Sarah doesn't think she will.

"I would absolutely love to and I just love babies but I don't think so," she said.

Time

"I think you need to have so much more time on your hands to have a third, plus a lot more money to get them minded and everything."

While she's happy to continue modelling for the years to come, Sarah has branched out to work in sales.

"I'm just delighted to still be working at my age and as long as people are still booking me, I'll keep working," she said.

"You can have a longer career in Ireland because people don't just want to see an 18-year-old in a dress that is meant for a 50-year-old.

"So when you're hitting your 30s and 40s, you can still model.

"I'm also working part-time in a showroom in Fashion City as well, so I sell different clothing brands to boutiques and chain stores.

"I'm loving it and I'm learning loads. It's brilliant to see another aspect of the clothing industry," she added.

Sarah was speaking at the launch of Pamela Scott's new autumn/winter collection.
