New mum Michelle Doherty has revealed it was her partner Mark's idea to start a family.

The couple have been together for two years and live in north London with their baby boy Max who was born last August.

"I always wanted kids but I kept putting it off saying, 'I'll do it next year'. Thankfully, Mark stepped in saying, 'I think we should start a family now'. That was it," she said.

"I didn't think I'd be that lucky for it to happen so quickly but thankfully we were blessed.

"It all happened within three months or so - I never ever took it for granted and I had a really great pregnancy," she added.

The former Xpose presenter admitted that having a baby with Mark made her fall in love with him all over again.

"Seeing him with Max has made me fall in love with him all over again. Now, I won't lie either, things are hard at the start for both you," she said.

Heaven

"We had this amazing two years together, just me and him and it was all fabulous and then this little baby comes along and we're both trying to figure out how to do this. So we kind of pushed our relationship to the back.

"We have to make sure we're making time for each other," she added.

When they do manage a rare night out, Michelle (38) says it's like "heaven".

"We've very lucky because we've lots of visitors who make us go on a night out here and there. It's just heaven when you do it because you've time to just talk to each other and be romantic and enjoy each other's company," she told VIP Magazine.

Naturally, everyone is wondering when the gorgeous couple are going to tie the knot.

"We do talk about it all the time. For us, it was always about starting our family first and then the rest would fall into place," she said.

"It's something we both want so it's just about deciding on the time and place and of course Mark popping the question," she added.
