Irish model Shahira Barry moves out of her Hollywood home
She left Ireland for the bright lights of Hollywood to find fame, but model Shahira Barry has revealed she's been having a tough time making the move Stateside.
The Galway native was forced to move from her LA pad to a new home after living there turned into "one of the worst experiences of her life".
In a recent blog post, the actress wrote that she was living a "nightmare".
"What is having a beautiful home if you live in an absolute nightmare," she said. "It was ridiculously draining."
The part-Bangladeshi model said that she would often cry when returning home after working a long day on the film set.
Now she has settled in Beverly Hills, Shahira is happier than ever.
"As a young female from another country my new area feels so much safer and also a lot more community orientated which is what I am used to from home."
Since moving to the US, the former teacher has landed small roles in hit movie Ted 2 and TV series True Detective.
As well as appearing in a new music video for upcoming LA performer Hopsin, the Galway girl been busy rubbing shoulders with A-listers, including bad boy rapper Chris Brown and Twilight actor Kellan Lutz.
Just last month, Shahira celebrated her birthday by jetting off to Las Vegas with 35 of friends, where she met up with controversial rapper Snoop Dogg.
