Irish Ferries shares up 5.5pc

TRANSPORT

Shares in the company behind Irish Ferries were up more than 5.5pc yesterday afternoon after it posted a 9.6pc increase in revenue last year, taking in €290m.

The rise was fuelled by the addition of a new vessel, the Epsilon, to the fleet, which allowed the company to complete 18 extra weekly sailings between Dublin and Holyhead, as well as a weekly round trip between Dublin and France.

Irish Continental Group (ICG), posted a 2.6pc increase in earnings to €50.5m.
