Tech firm gets €500k for tourism projects
IRISH technology firm ZolkC has secured a €500,000 investment to develop tourist and heritage sites in Ireland.
The Waterford-based firm is behind the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience in New Ross, the Culloden Battlefield experience in Scotland and the Saint Patrick Centre in Downpatrick.
Average revenue per visitor increased by 20pc since their solution was deployed in Dunbrody.
The company has just inked a contract with Waterford City Council to provide a handheld multimedia interpretation of the historic 'Viking Triangle' quarter.
