Interviewer (9) gives McIlroy socks 'just in case you get cold feet again'
Rory McIlroy was put through the wringer by a nine-year-old fan who quizzed him on everything from his hair to his favourite female tennis pro.
The golfer met youngster Billy as part of the European Tour's "Big Little Interview" series ahead of his DP World Tour Championship defence in Dubai.
Nothing was off-limits for the miniature interviewer, and he was quick to question McIlroy on who his favourite female tennis player is.
The Co Down golfer famously split from tennis star Caroline Wozniacki while they were engaged.
"I've stopped following women's tennis the last couple of years," McIlroy said after some nervous laughter.
The interview ended with an early gift for the golfer ahead of his wedding to Erica Stoll next year - a box of socks.
"Just in case you get cold feet again," Billy told him.
McIlroy's friendship with US president-elect Donald Trump was also raised, with Billy asking who tried harder to be McIlroy's friend, Trump or One Direction star Niall Horan.
"I think we're all trying to be Donald Trump's friend at the minute. They both love golf and that's a great thing," he said.
"And because I'm good at it, it's nice to have a relationship. I'd say Trump tried a little harder than Niall did."
McIlroy also said he would text Niall back first and would let Trump "sweat it out".
The tongue-in-cheek interview also saw McIlroy given a picture of his younger self, complete with his curly hair-do.
"It was a phase, Billy. My dad was telling me, 'You have to get your hair cut', and I should have listened to him," he said, to laughter.
