The new 'go to' destination for interior design and interiors has been unveiled.

Independent News & Media, the owners of this newspaper, last night announced its new interiors event, 'house 2016'.

The event will run from May 20 to 22 at the RDS and will showcase the very best home and interiors design.

Designers, architects, craftsmen, furniture and fit-out suppliers will be on hand for tips, demos and masterclasses.

Cliona Carroll, INM's sponsorship and events manager, said that the three-day event will provide the right balance for homeowners and those in the interiors business.

"House 2016 represents an abundance of opportunity for exhibitors and sponsors alike, experiential brand alignment in its truest form," she said.

"This event will put exhibitors and sponsors in front of an audience of over 2.4 million nationwide through editorial support and a tactical cross-platform marketing campaign."

To showcase house 2016, INM will be using their stable of household names including Brendan O'Connor, Mary O'Sullivan and Bairbre Power.

There will be a range of exhibitions including The Design Stage where architects and interior designers will take part in a series of talks, offering smart design advice and savvy makeover tips.

The Trends Arena will showcase the hottest new trends and cutting-edge designs while Colour Consultants will help visitors choose the right scheme for their homes. And at Dream Home, Ireland's best interior designers will be tasked with creating their ideal house in the theme of 'Contemporary Irish Style'.
