THE family of a Dublin woman who was killed in the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers has today said they hold no hatred towards Osama bin Laden, and forgive his crimes.
With incredible strength and grace, Joanne Cregan’s mother said she hopes the al-Qa’ida leader will rest in peace.
Churchtown native Joanne (32) was working on the 105th floor of the North Tower as a PA with Cantor Fitzgerald when the first plane hit the building.
Her sister Grace (28) was working in the South Tower and managed to escape.
“May the Lord have mercy on his soul. We all feel blessed that we hold no hatred,” said Joanne’s mother Mary. “Why perpetuate the poison? Why continue the hatred?” she asked.
Mary said she would go as far as to forgive bin Laden for his terrorist ways.
“He must have been burning with hate, he was not a happy man. I wouldn’t like to be in his head,” she said.
