The hunt is on for the lucky lotto winner who scooped more than €7 million over the weekend.

The life-changing sum has yet to be claimed but it has been revealed that the winning ticket was bought in South Dublin.

“We know it was bought on Tuesday… [and] it is bound to be a local,” insisted Rushe SuperValu owner John Rushe.

Speaking to the Irish Sun, the branch owner in Killiney Shopping Centre said he could not pinpoint where in South Dublin the lucky pundit could be from as “we’d have a fair radius of people shopping with us going all the way out to Shankill.”

“It is the first time we have won the big one so this is good news. I am in that shop since 1987 and we’ve been waiting a while for the win.

“We had the winner but we haven’t a clue who it is. We are all very excited about it, It is a brilliant good news story,” he added.

Ireland’s newest millionaire has 90 days to claim their €7,384,790 cash prize.

The winning numbers were 7, 26, 34, 39, 41, 42 with a bonus number of 31.

The win comes as the National Lottery recently came under fire for a host of new changes including a price increase and less chance of winning the jackpot, with two extra numbers added to the mix.
