Hozier set for Electric Picnic

Wicklow wonder Hozier has been added to the line-up for next month's Electric Picnic festival.

Fresh from taking to the stage at the Benicassim festival, the Take Me to Church star continues to wow fans with his unique sound.

Speaking about his delight at getting a prime slot at the popular Laois festival in the wake of his appearance in Spain, he said: "Back to Ireland I come. See you at EP festival."

The 24-year-old (inset) appears to be unable to put a foot wrong of late, garnering huge attention thanks to his appearance on the David Letterman show in the States.

Managed by Caroline Downey of MCD fame, he's also gearing up to release his much-awaited debut album IN September.

Other names that have just been added to the bill are James Vincent McMorrow, The Strypes, The 1976, Bombay Bicycle Club and Wild Beasts.

They'll join Lily Allen, Paolo Nutini, Outkast, Pet Shop Boys, Portishead and Beck in what should prove to be a sizzling feast for music fans.

Running from August 29 to 31, some ticket packages have already sold out for the event, which is now in its 11th year.
