A sales assistant at the Blanchardstown HMV shop, in Dublin, told the Herald that staff at the store there are owed up to €3,000 in wages, overtime and holiday pay.
The young worker said staff had suffered "a big shock" in suddenly losing their jobs.
"I have not been paid for December or January and I would be owed between €2,500 and €3,000," she claimed.
"Other staff are owed between €1,600 and €3,000. We worked a lot of overtime over the Christmas but our main concern is just to get our wages," she added.
"We were told we would be paid but when we asked for a guarantee in writing they said they would not be able to give us a guarantee in writing," the worker added.
HMV has stores across Dublin in Grafton Street, Henry Street, Dundrum, Liffey Valley, Blanchardstown and Tallaght. It has 16 branches across the Republic.
Representatives from the administrators remained inside the stores and did not wish to comment. The shops were closed yesterday and will remain closed throughout the administration process.
