Gucci revenues up to €3.9m here
Revenues at the Irish arm of Gucci - one of the world's best-known luxury brands - tripled to €3.9m last year.
The sharp increase in revenues at Gucci Ireland Ltd comes on the back of a successful new store opening at the Kildare Village in July last year.
The 190pc rise in revenues saw the firm return to the black to record pre-tax profits of €41,336 in the 12 months to the end of February this year. This followed the company recording a pre-tax loss of €87,901 in the previous year.
However, the expansion of the business doesn't point to a soaring demand by Irish people for Gucci handbags and other Gucci goods.
The Gucci directors stated that "a significant proportion of our sales performance is linked to the level of tourism in Ireland".
