Gardai following definite lead as two dogs collared
It's a dog's life behind bars as a pair of pooches who were picked up on Dublin's northside have been finding out.
The official Garda Traffic Corps page - known for their tongue-in-cheek humour - tweeted a pair of photos of the troublesome pair who were apprehended "by some brave members of our police force".
They were collared after barking at a bicycle before they were picked up.
"Two noisy howlers arrested today after they chased a man on a bike around Finglas," the tweet reads.
"Dogs remain in station. Collected by Dublin pound."
No official charges were brought, but the Herald understands that neither suspect evoked their right to remain silent.
Both Jack Russells were picked up yesterday afternoon and sources said gardai were following a definite lead in the case.
Anyone with information on the dogs can contact Finglas Garda Station.
If no contact is made, the two dogs were due to be collected by the Dublin pound today.
Gardai said it is hoped that they will soon be releashed into the custody of their owner.
