A passenger who was removed by gardai from a Dublin Bus for being a drunken nuisance told a female officer he would "f**k your mother".

Roman Mandache (51) claimed he is suffering from depression and needs counselling.

Mandache admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to threatening and abusive behaviour at the N11 Stillorgan Road last January 30.

Gda Barry Cormack said gardai were called following reports of an unruly passenger on a bus. He said Mandache was drunk and verbally abusive to others.

Drinking

He was removed from the bus, and while gardai were taking his details he became aggressive. He then told a female garda he would "f**k your mother".

The court heard Mandache, with addresses at Main Street, Delgany, and Bayview Close, Kilcoole, both Co Wicklow, has 12 previous convictions.

Defence lawyer Kim Moloney said Mandache suffers from depression and is aware drinking does not help his condition.

Ms Moloney said Mandache wass on medication but he needs counselling.

Judge Watkin said the defendant needed to "clean up his act" and stop drinking.
