Gambling addict snatched handbags

A GAMBLING addict snatched women's handbags in Dublin nightclubs to fund his habit.

Elton Jupi (29) was caught going through bags he stole in two clubs in the space of three days.

Judge Michael Walsh fined him €300 at Dublin District Court.

Jupi, of Willow View, Clonsilla, pleaded guilty to theft.

On October 23, 2010, gardai caught him rooting through a handbag at Thomas Lane.

It had been stolen from a woman in the nearby Living Room nightclub and had cash and a mobile phone in it.

Two days earlier, he was caught going through another stolen handbag in toilets in Fitzsimons nightclub in Temple Bar.

Jupi was now "turning his life around", his lawyer said.
