Fire Brigade brings major blaze at Carrickmines under control

Dublin Fire Brigade battled a major fire in Carrickmines south Dublin this afternoon.

The fire broke out in a disused building close to an apartment block.

Four Dublin Fire Brigade appliances were on site to fight the blaze.

Neither residents nor the building were ever under threat from the flames, a source said.

All firefighters have now left the scene and the fire was extinguished before 4.30pm.

Meanwhile, an incident took place in the Robinhood Industrial Estate last night.

Three units from the Dolphin's Barn and Tallaght fire stations fought the tyre and container fire.

Foam was used to suppress the fire.

There were no reports of any injuries in the incident.
