Fine Gael support rises to 29pc
FINE Gael may have lost some of its deputies but it hasn't lost any public support in the wake of the introduction of controversial abortion legislation.
A NEW opinion poll has revealed that the party's standing has actually gone up, rising by 1pc to 29pc. This is despite losing high-profile TDs like Lucinda Creighton and Peter Mathews, who voted against the abortion legislation.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny was accused of going against core Fine Gael values by bringing in the new laws but his party remains the most popular.
