Face of mum who was seriously injured along with teen in horror knife attack
A MOTHER was last night recovering in hospital after she was injured during a double-stabbing attack.
The victim, a woman from Cork, has been named locally as Donna Foster, who is aged in her 40s.
Ms Foster was injured during a knife attack in a house in the Cooline area of Cobh, Co Cork, yesterday morning.
A girl, who is aged in her early teens, also sustained injuries in the attack.
Gardai and emergency services attended the scene and said the woman and teenager sustained their injuries between 10 and 11am.
Ms Foster was transferred to Cork University Hospital (CUH) where she remained last night as she recovered from her wounds.
She was described as being in a serious but stable condition.
The teenager was also treated in CUH for minor injuries, but has since been released.
A man, who is aged in his 50s was detained by gardai and remained in their custody in Cobh last night.
Ms Foster is a successful businesswoman and a popular beautician in the harbour town.
"Donna is fabulous, an absolutely gorgeous girl," one local said last night.
"I know the family well, I know her mum's family. Donna is very elegant. I am so shocked.
"Donna comes from the most beautiful and respectful family in the town," the woman said.
"They are pillars of the community in every way, shape and form. They are a very community-orientated family."
