A number of eggs have been thrown at AIB chairman Dermot Gleeson during the bank's EGM in Dublin this morning.
The incident happened as the start of the meeting, which has been called to allow shareholders approve the Government's €3.5bn recapitalisation of the bank.
None of the eggs hit Mr Gleeson, who had apologised just minutes beforehand for the way AIB has been run in recent years.
He admitted that mistakes had been made, particularly in relation to property development.
