Drunk jumped up on and damaged bonnet of jeep
A DRUNK woman jumped up on the bonnet of a jeep, scratching it, when gardai tried to arrest her, a court heard.
Sky Elgar (36) also kicked out at gardai and ran up and down a busy road between traffic.
Judge David McHugh fined Elgar €100 after she paid €300 for the damage she caused to the vehicle.
The defendant, of Sheephill Green, Corduff, admitted before Blanchardstown District Court to public drunkenness, threatening and abusive behaviour, being drunk and a danger to traffic and criminal damage at Blanchardstown Road North early last month.
Sgt Mary Doherty said gardai were called to the scene at around 6.30pm following reports of a woman jumping and running up and down in the middle of the road.
The officer said Elgar was very drunk and started kicking out at gardai. She added that said Elgar then jumped on to a Land Rover Discovery jeep, scratching the bonnet and damaging the windscreen wiper.
The damage was estimated at €300 and Elgar had the compensation in court.
Defence solicitor Fiona Brennan said Elgar, who is unemployed, was deeply ashamed of her behaviour.
Ms Brennan said Elgar had no excuse for behaving in such a manner, and she simply had too much to drink.
The court heard the defendant did not know the owner of the jeep.
Judge McHugh told Elgar's solicitor that her behaviour had been "rather silly".
