Drumcondra: Locals fear reprisals after gun murder
Residents in Drumcondra are "deeply concerned about reprisals" from the Church Avenue gun murder last month.
Criminal Paul Kavanagh was shot dead on Church Avenue at 11.30am on March 26, by two men as he sat in his car.
Locals said that they fear there will be reprisals.
"It happened in broad daylight, right beside a school, in a residential area and people are deeply concerned it's spelling the beginning of further serious crime," said one source.
Gardai have now stepped up patrols locally in response to this incident. Separately, break-ins in Drumcondra have decreased by 50pc since January, due to Operation Acer.
