Digital boom for RTE
RTE Radio is expanding its digital radio network and will make its four nationwide FM services and an additional seven exclusive digital radio services available to over half of the population.
RTE's development of its digital radio infrastructure, which comes as the station celebrates the first anniversary today, will allow it to continue to give Irish radio listeners in nine counties the best possible services in the digital age, radio director of operations JP Coakley said.
The state broadcaster intends to roll out digital radio to 56pc of the population over the coming two years.
