Debenhams recalls designer clothes over fear zips could injure children
A TOP store has issued an alert over designer children's clothes that can cause scratches and grazes to the face.
Debenhams has now issued an urgent recall of children's snowsuits and jackets by designer chain Ted Baker.
The faulty clothes contain dangerous zips that can cause scratches and grazes on the faces or necks of small babies and children.
The garments include two jackets and six snowsuits for boys and girls up to the age of five.
The jackets and snowsuits have been available for sale here since August.
The chain says it is recalling the products as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of their customers.
"It has come to our attention that the zips on the products have fallen below our acceptable quality standards and may cause scratches or grazes on the faces or necks of babies and small children," the company said in a statement issued last night.
Eight Ted Baker garments have been requested for return to the department store.
The range includes six snow suits, including four for a baby girl as well as a quilted red snow suit for a baby boy and a baby boy memory navy snowsuit.
A baby girl cream printed jacket and a toddler girls light brown padded jacket have also been flagged as faulty.
Customers who have purchased or received the faulty items have been asked to stop using them immediately.
The garments can be returned to any Debenhams store and customers will be issued with a full refund, the store said.
