A nephew of former crime boss Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch has won quite a windfall on last night’s Winning Streak.

Edward Hutch (39) has 189 convictions for a range of offences, including theft and motoring offences.

The well-known petty criminal was in the audience last night for the RTE One show after sending in his three stars.

Edward's brother Ross played the gameshow in his place, and he won a car worth €25,000, and €8,000 in cash.

Ross, who appeared on the show holding a teddy bear mascot, appealed to his brother at certain stages on the show to help him choose his next move.

Hutch was in for a one-in-five chance of spinning the wheel – which could have seen him in with a chance at bringing home €500,000.

Earlier this week, speculation was rife as to whether Hutch would appear on the show. But it turns out he was happy to have his brother in the hot seat.

Also playing Winning Streak tonight was Miss Donegal Natasha McFadden.

The beauty queen, who has just started work as a restaurant manager, initially thought it was a joke when her family told her that her name was called. She’s planning on using her winnings as part of a deposit on a house.
