Youth 'wanted to fight garda'

A TEENAGER ran at a garda shouting "I'll fight you" and pushed him in the chest with two hands, a court heard.

Thomas Connors (19) was drunk and he had been involved in an argument with a number of others.

The defendant, of Kilbogget Grove in Cabinteely, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour.

He also admitted to assaulting Garda Stephen Barry during the incident at Kilbogget Halting Site, Old Bray Road, Cabinteely, on January 17 last year.

Judge Clare Leonard adjourned sentencing to a date in March.



Teen faces trial over food raid

A DUBLIN youth accused of breaking a man's car window and robbing him of Chinese food has been sent forward for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Daniel Wall (19) had a book of evidence served on him when he appeared in Tallaght District Court on criminal damage and robbery charges.

Wall, with an address at Belgard Road Halting Site, Tallaght, is charged with damaging a Toyota Corolla belonging to Yang Yu and robbing him of €18.20 worth of Chinese food at Greenhills Grove, Tallaght, on May 19 last year.



Drunk woman abused garda

A YOUNG woman repeatedly told a garda he was a "piece of s***" and threatened that she would break his wife's legs after she drunkenly turned up to sign on at a garda station.

Erica Gould (26) repeatedly kicked a door of the garda's own car which was parked in the private area of the car park at Dundrum Garda Station.

She also spat at a sergeant and tried to bite him after she was arrested.

The defendant, of Kilmacud Road Lower in Stillorgan, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to charges of criminal damage, threatening and abusive behaviour and violent behaviour in a garda station.

Judge Clare Leonard adjourned sentencing to a date in March.
