Two men charged with drugs offences after gardai seized €420,000 worth of cocaine have been sent forward for trial.

Trevor Brunton (34) and Jason Kearney (36) were arrested after gardai intercepted a number of vehicles at Blanchardstown Centre last July.

They are facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court.

Mr Brunton, of Broombridge Road, Cabra, and Mr Kearney, of Neilstown Drive, Clondalkin, are charged with possession of cocaine and having the drug for sale or supply at the Blanchardstown Centre last July 28.

Evidence

Mr Brunton is further charged with possession of cocaine and having the drug for sale or supply at his home address on the same date.

State solicitor Michael Durkan said the book of evidence had been served on the men, who go forward to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge David McHugh assigned defence solicitors Simon Fleming and John O'Doherty on free legal aid.

The men were also assigned a junior and senior counsel after the court heard the value of the cocaine was €420,000.
