A TEENAGER who got involved in a scam to steal hundreds of euros worth of petrol from Tesco has received a suspended sentence.
EDGAR Cesyns (19) was stopped on the M50 by gardai after he and an accomplice filled a number of petrol containers at Tesco in Dundrum and fled in a car.
He later admitted stealing petrol from two other Tesco service stations.
Judge Bridget Reilly fined Cesyns €1,600 and sentenced him to one month in prison suspended for one year.
The defendant, of Aulden Grange in Santry, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to eight counts of theft.
