Teen was aggressive towards a woman

A TEENAGER who was shouting and screaming at a woman before he started to kick a shopping bag up a road has been convicted and fined €80 at Blanchardstown District Court.

Craig Redmond (19) was acting in an aggressive manner towards the woman before Garda Sean Murphy intervened.

Redmond, of Valley Park Drive in Finglas, pleaded guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour on January 22 at Cardiffcastle Road in Finglas.

Garda Murphy agreed with Redmond's solicitor that on the day the defendant was shouting and screaming at the woman, and that it appeared to be a domestic row.

Redmond further pleaded guilty to obstructing Garda David Sheffield at Casement Road, Finglas West last December 14.

convictions

Garda David Sheffield gave evidence to the court that at 5.15am he responded to a call at a house on Casement Road.

He stated that Redmond had refused to leave the house, despite being refused entry.

"He managed to get into the house despite being refused entry," said Gda Sheffield.

He said Redmond has 23 previous convictions for public order, robbery and theft offences.

Redmond's solicitor said the teen had a difficult year last year after his brother died tragically.

Judge David McHugh noted Redmond's previous convictions and remarked "he is making a nuisance of himself," before convicting and fining him.
