Teen in threat to torch home

A 14-year-old boy has been remanded on bail pending sentence later this month for threatening to burn down a woman's home after she complained that youths from a HSE care centre attacked her son.

The boy, who is in care, admitted at the Children's Court to making a threat to cause criminal damage on February 7 last year.

The court had heard that when the Dublin woman went to the unit to complain, the then 13-year-old "approached and threatened to burn down her house and get her family".
