Row with ex costs dad €500

A FATHER of two told gardai to "f**k off" after they interrupted a shouting match between him and his ex-girlfriend.

Richard Lynch (38) was now off the drink, Tallaght District Court heard, as his new girlfriend would not tolerate him getting into trouble.

A judge fined him €500.

The defendant, of Portland Close, North Strand, admitted to public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour at Willbrook Park in Rathfarnham on August 23 last.

Garda Sergeant Carmel Henry said gardai were called to the scene following reports of a drunken male in the street.

Lynch was shouting at another individual, and when gardai intervened he told them to f**k off.

The court heard that Lynch has 42 previous convictions, including a serious conviction for robbery.

Defence solicitor Michael Hennessy said Lynch, an unemployed scaffolder, is no longer in the "toxic relationship" with his former girlfriend, and is with a new partner with whom he has two children.
