Richard McCann (26), of Aughnaskerry Drive in Cavan, and Michael Duke (24), of Finglaswood Road in Finglas, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with aggravated burglary.
The pair allegedly attacked Michael and Winnie Keenan and smashed up their car and plasma TV at their house on Barry Avenue, Finglas, on February 15, 2011.
It is alleged that McCann had a pitchfork while Duke had a knife.
It followed an incident between McCann and another member of the same family, Peter Keenan, in the car park of the Priorswood Inn in Coolock on February 14, 2011.
Both men are facing trial by judge and jury in the Circuit Court after the DPP ruled the matters were too serious for the District Court.
McCann is accused of causing criminal damage to the TV and car.
Duke is charged with two counts of serious assault. He has been ordered to stay away from the alleged victims.
McCann is further charged with producing a bottle while committing an assault on Peter Keenan.
A State solicitor said the book of evidence was ready and has been served on the accused men.
Judge John Lindsay warned them they had 14 days to provide the State with details of anyone they proposed calling as a witness in the case.
