Man who sold drugs to gardai avoids jail
A man caught dealing diazepam to undercover gardai posing as drug addicts has been given a suspended jail term.
John Collins (26) was arrested following a garda operation targeting the supply of drugs.
Gda Alan Barry said Collins was on a green area at Parslicks- town Avenue, Mulhuddart, supp- lying the undercover gardai with two strips of diazepam.
Collins, of Hamlet Lane, Balbrig- gan, pleaded guilty at Blanchardstown District Court to possession of the drugs for sale or supply on October 14 last year.
The court heard Collins has 35 previous convictions, including one for robbery and two for unlawful possession of a firearm.
Judge David McHugh handed him a four-month prison sentence, which he suspended for 18 months.
