Grieving mum took two Dublin GAA tops
A YOUNG mother caught stealing two Dublin GAA jerseys from a sports shop was upset at the time after she suffered a miscarriage, a court heard.
Louise King (24) was also found with a Liverpool FC shirt and a Manchester Utd jersey when she was stopped by security staff.
Judge Patrick Clyne told King that she was "Catholic" in her sporting tastes, before adjourning the matter to a date in September for the consideration of a suspended sentence.
King, of Racehill View in Ashbourne, Co Meath, admitted before Dublin District Court to stealing two Dublin GAA jerseys, worth €120, from Lifestyle Sports in Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas on August 28 last.
Defence solicitor Murrough O'Rourke said the defendant is a single mother with a four-year-old child. He said King was upset at the time of this incident as she lost her child half way through her pregnancy.
