Four charged over €376,000 drug seizure
FOUR men charged with drugs offences following the seizure of €376,000 worth of cannabis have been sent forward for trial by jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Warren Bale (43), Kaide Fowler (27), Simon O'Donnell (37) and Francis O'Donnell (33) appeared before Blanchardstown District Court accused of growing the cannabis without a licence.
A State solicitor served the Books of Evidence on the four accused, who have now been sent forward to the next sitting of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge David McHugh gave the four men the alibi caution, warning them that they have 14 days to provide to the State details of anyone they propose calling as witnesses in their defence.
Mr Bale, of Castlecurragh Vale, Ladyswell; Mr Fowler, of Deanstown Avenue, Finglas; Francis O'Donnell, of Meakstown Close, Finglas and Simon O'Donnell, of St Philomena's Park, Ballycoolin, are charged with possession of cannabis as well as having the drug for sale or supply.
The incident allegedly took place at Meakstown Close, Finglas on June 21, 2014.
The men are also accused of cultivating cannabis without a licence on the same date at the same location. They are further charged under Section 15A of the Misuse of Drugs Act, where the alleged value of the cannabis is greater than €13,000. The estimated street value of the drug is €376,000.
Judge McHugh remanded all four on continuing bail to appear before Court 5 at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Friday, April 17.
