Double rapist held down and tattooed with swastika in jail

A COMPUTER expert convicted of raping two women after drugging them was previously arrested in three other countries for similar offences.

Kapil Garg (34) was picked up for sex crimes in the United States, England and Australia but escaped criminal convictions in each case.

The Herald can also reveal that the highly dangerous sex beast was branded with a Nazi swastika in a sick jail attack in Dublin's Cloverhill Prison in August of last year.

Dublin Circuit Court heard that Garg raped the women at his apartment in Whitefriar Place in Dublin's south inner city in July 2 of last year.

Degree

The highly educated computer technician is considered one of Ireland's most dangerous sex offenders.

During his trial, the rapist was described as a "well-educated, well-travelled, cosmopolitan man of the world" who had earned a masters degree in computing in California.

He had met the two friends at 3am outside a nightclub and went back to his house in Dublin on the understanding that he would give them the drug ecstasy.

It is believed that he actually gave them an anti-depressant and when they fell asleep he raped both of them.

One of the women said she woke up during the ordeal, roused her friend and they made their escape.

The Indian national has been in custody since being arrested for the offence last summer.

The Herald can reveal that he has endured a campaign of terror in Cloverhill Prison which included multiple beatings and scaldings.

But in the most disturbing incident -- in August of last year -- he was held down by two inmates for almost an hour while they tattooed a Nazi swastika on his leg.

The rapist is understood to have screamed a number of times but prison staff say they were unaware of his ordeal.

At a remand hearing after the attack, Garg who is considered "extremely manipulative and dangerous", claimed he spends "16 or 18 hours each day crying" in prison and that his body is covered in bruises.

The rapist showed some of his bruises in court and attempted to display the swastika on his leg but was informed by the judge that it was not relevant to the application which was before the court.

His trial heard that Garg gave his two victims half a pill each and the three of them later went into his bedroom after the women started to feel tired.

The first woman had earlier told the jury that she later woke to find Garg having sex with her friend whom she said appeared to be asleep.

She said she tried to wake her friend but was unsuccessful and fell back asleep herself. She then woke lying on her stomach to find Garg sitting on her legs.

The woman explained that she pushed herself up on her arms and asked Garg: "What the hell are you doing?" He stopped having sex with her and got up.

She then woke her friend and before they left she went into Garg's flatmate's room and told him that Garg had raped her.
