Childminder pleads not guilty to charge of causing serious harm to baby
A Cavan child minder has entered a not guilty plea to a charge of causing serious harm to a 10-month-old baby.
Sandra Higgins (34) of The Beeches, Drumgola Wood, Cavan town, pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to the baby at her home on March 28, 2012.
The jury are presently being sworn for a trial before Judge Patricia Ryan.
Judge Ryan told the jury panel that the accused is a private child minder living in Drumgola Wood in Cavan town. The trial is set to last up to six days.
