Boy accused of hitting carer

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has pleaded not guilty to attacking a HSE staff member at a controversial secure unit for children in care and may call expert witnesses.

The boy was accused at the Children's Court of allegedly assaulting a male employee at the Ballydowd Special Care Unit, in west Dublin, on August 9 last year.

Defence solicitor Catherine Ghent said that a number of incidents at the centre had been investigated by the HSE "and this is one of these."

The teenager, who was accompanied to his case by his father, was remanded on bail.

Nude ballerina to dance again

a ballet company has rehired a ballerina fired for posing in the nude for a men's magazine.

Solo dancer Karina Sarkissova was sacked by the Vienna State Opera after a series of provocative shots appeared in Austrian Penthouse. She had already been warned in May over nude photos taken in the opera house without permission that appeared in the adult magazine.

A statement said Sarkissova would be allowed back on stage after she apologised.
