A MAN and woman have appeared in court accused of possession of an estimated €82,000 worth of cannabis at a house in west Dublin.

Noel Hanna (25) and Jennifer Maguire (24), who face trial by jury, were both granted bail at Dublin District Court. Judge Patricia McNamara adjourned their cases for the preparation of books of evidence.

The accused, both of the same address at Willow Wood Walk, Hartstown, are charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply. They are also charged with possession of more than €13,000 worth of the drug.

Bond

The offences are alleged to have happened at a house at Coolmine Cottages, Mulhuddart, last December 11.

Neither defendant made any reply to the charges when they were put to them.

The DPP is directing trial on indictment and the prosecuting gardai had no objections to bail.

Gda Michael Redmond said the value of drugs in the case was €82,000.

Judge McNamara granted bail in the defendants' own bonds on €500 on condition they continue to reside at their home address and sign on at their local garda station.

She assigned free legal aid. The accused have not yet indicated how they intend to plead to the charges.
