The incident took place at The Square car park on October 24 last year.

Intoxicated

Gda Molloy said Brooks was verbally abusive to security staff and he told him to "F**k off"

The garda said Brooks was clearly intoxicated.

The court heard he had seven previous convictions.

Defence lawyer George Burns said it was raining on the night in question, Brooks was waiting for a taxi and he stood under a canopy.

Mr Burns said security staff went to move him on and he reacted badly.

The court heard that Brooks, a father-of-two, previously worked in a slaughterhouse but was now unemployed.
