€42k claim for crushed foot
A MAN who suffered a crush injury to his foot in a forklift truck accident has been awarded €42,000 in High Court damages.
However, David Grant (34), Brookview Lawns, Tallaght, Dublin, failed in his claim for loss of earnings after a judge said evidence about his pay was not reliable, including that he had earned €5,000 from the black economy in the years before the accident.
Mr Grant sued Total Logistics Providers Ltd, of Ballysimon Road, Limerick, and Scanlines Logistics Ltd of Ballsbridge, Dublin, over the accident on November 27, 2003, at a premises owned by the companies in Swords, Dublin.
Negligence was admitted and Costs were also awarded to Mr Grant.
