Company loans 'are in bad shape'
Business loans, many linked to property, are in even worse shape than home loans, the Central Bank has warned.
Two-thirds of bad loans in Ireland relate to commercial lending, including property- related debt involving small and medium enterprises. Of those, one-third has a poor prospect of recovery.
The stark figures laying bare difficulties faced by businesses were set out by financial regulator Cyril Roux at Chartered Accountants Ireland's Leinster Society lunch.
