Coldplay to rock Croker next year
There's good news for Coldplay fans as the British band confirmed they will play in Croke Park next summer.
The concert will take place on July 18 in GAA headquarters as part of their A Head Full of Dreams Tour.
Speculation about an Irish concert has been rife since Friday, when the band uploaded a video titled "2017" that featured various flags, including the Irish tricolour.
The Welsh, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Polish and Austrian flags were among the other flags.
Chris Martin and co last played in Ireland at Kildare's Punchestown Racecourse in July 2011 for their Mylo Xyloto tour. Now speculation will begin on whether the gig on July 8 - a Saturday - will be a once-off or whether other gigs will be added.
Coldplay released their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, last year.
Tickets for the gig will go on sale this Friday at 9am. They are priced at €69.50.
Bruce Springsteen played two massive gigs at Croke Park last July in peak GAA season.
