Children 'scared' by man found on roadside
A DUBLIN man who scared children when they saw him slumped over at the side of the road told gardai to "f**k off" when they directed him to leave the area, a court heard.
John O'Brien (44) was told to leave the area three times by gardai, but he failed to do so.
Judge John Lindsay applied the probation act.
The defendant, with an address at North Circular Road, Dublin 7, admitted before Tallaght District Court to failing to follow the directions of gardai.
The incident took place at Tymon North Road on June 6 last.
Garda Michelle Conley said O'Brien was slumped over, and there were a number of children in the area who said he was scaring them.
Defence solicitor John O'Leary said O'Brien is in poor health, has pancreatic problems and needs a hip replacement.
