Cheeky Newstalk plasters Pat bus ad outside RTE
PAT Kenny has returned to RTE... well not quite. Cheeky Newstalk bosses have plastered the bus shelter outside RTE with a wrap-around ad encouraging passers-by to 'Move The Dial' to Pat's rival morning show.
Situated directly under the Montrose mast, the move could be seen as an incursion into enemy territory. Not only is the bus stop used by many of the national broadcaster's staff, it has also been used in countless shoots by RTE.
"Was putting a big ad for Pat Kenny's Newstalk show directly outside RTE done deliberately, you bet it was. Brilliant," is how one industry source described the move.
However, a Newstalk spokesman denied there was any humour in a series of promos featuring Pat, which advises listeners how to find Newstalk on the dial. "Newstalk has various frequencies between 106 and 108 and this lets listeners know where they can find Pat."
