Charity lunch honours rugby great Donal
Former international rugby player Donal Lenihan was honoured at the annual Ireland Funds Rugby Lunch in Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel.
More than 400 guests attended the fundraiser, which is traditionally held before the first home game of the Six Nations tournament.
Guests included Michael Flatley, former Taoiseach Brian Cowan and former Irish internationals Hugo MacNeill and Trevor Ringland.
The event is organised by The Ireland Funds, the philanthropic network that operates in 12 countries and has raised more than $550m (€520) for worthy Irish causes at home and abroad.
Over the past 40 years, The Ireland Funds has received vital support from 25,000 donors.
Between 2000 and 2015, it awarded 7,100 grants to 3,200 outstanding organisations.
CEO of The Worldwide Ireland Funds Kieran McLoughlin and chairman of The Ireland Funds America John Fitzpatrick also attendended yesterday's lunch.
