Central Bank slammed
A top Central Bank official slammed his former employer at the banking inquiry.
Former head of economics Tom O'Connell said the bank's warnings were watered down and alleged that the former governor was too close to the Department of Finance. O'Connell added that the boards of the Central Bank and the Financial Regulator were heavily weighted with political supporters of government. Concerns were invariably watered down to avoid embarrassing the government, he added.
