Businesswomen bid for States
Some of our most inspiring women will take centre-stage to showcase the best the country has to offer.
Up to 100 delegates will attend a US and Irish female entrepreneurs networking evening in Cork later this month to celebrate the role entrepreneurship plays in society.
Organised by Cork Foundation, leading businesswomen will pitch their products and ideas to eight US entrepreneurs, with one set to travel to New York in December to meet with industry leaders in their field.
Leaders from multi-national and indigenous companies will also share their insights on women taking the leap into what was regarded as a man's world.
"Traditionally, entrepreneurship has been male-led, but it's encouraging to see an increasing number of women taking the leap and starting their own business," said Anne O'Leary, Vodafone Ireland chief and Cork Foundation member (pictured above centre with Irish entrepreneurs Joan Walsh, left, and Tracey Ryan).
