Bus union rejects minister's claims

The union representing bus drivers, which plans to hold a day of industrial action on May 1, has rejected the Transport Minister's claims that he is prepared to give the workers guarantees through the negotiations.

The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU), which represents almost 2,500 drivers with Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus, wrote to the minister and said they will not negotiate transfer of any members to a private company, "regardless of assurances".
